Version 2: February

The entries for the February edition of Version 2 are up! I wish I had had time to submit a version, but I’m not much of a designer, and I already have a long list of higher priority items on my plate. It’s great fun to look at other people’s entries, though.

Some of the entries are very blog-like, which isn’t necessarily bad, but I don’t think they necessarily fit the site all that well.

Many entries are visually quite beautiful, but some of these have technical problems (at least in IE - which may not be the best browser, but more than half the internet uses it, so it must be taken into strong consideration) and some aren’t terribly well-organized or useable, in my opinion. They’re not poorly organized, necessarily, but the best design should have everything you want right at your fingertips, and should be easily scannable. Important things should just pop out to your eye. Oh, and of course, the text should either be at a readable size on all resolutions, or even better, it should let the text resize.

My personal favorites are:

Many of the others are also quite nice, but these just seem to fit the site best, in my opinion. Now I just have to figure out which one to vote for!
