Two films! wow, that is good.

My friend tried to teach me how to knit a few weeks ago. I was so painfully slow at it that she got annoyed, took it off me, and did it herself.

I think I got about 10 stiches done. Lol.

But, she wasn't that fast either I gather. She was kniting a rist band for herself, and it must of taken her a whole film to finish, im sure. A whole hat in two films, thats way out of her league. heehee.

By the way, I like the colour a lot. What is that wool called? My friend (another girl) has a jumper that is very similar. It would be mighty impressive to her if I see her wearing it and say; "hey isn't that....". You get the idea.

The thickness of the yarn made it a lot easier to knit quickly.

The kind of yarn is chenille, and the particular yarn I was using was made by Lion Brand Yarn (you can see it here on their website). The color is called "garnet". The yarn is mostly made out of acrylic. It's really soft and velvety, and I think it's quite beautiful. The only thing I don't like about the yarn is that it seems to be prone to loops getting pulled out from the fabric for no apparent reason. I bought a chenille sweater once that had the same problem. I'm not sure why it happens.

Learning to knit can be a bit laborious at first. My grandma taught me to knit when I was nine years old, and it took a while to get the hang of it. I think it helps to use needles that aren't too small (around size 10 or 11 would probably be good), and yarn that makes it easy to see your stitches (pastel shades would probably work best).

The hat looks great! I have a friend who knits hats a lot, and has actually gotten a clothing store to stock some of them (not a bad way to earn a little extra money). This post reminded me that I have been wanting him to teach me, though, so thanks for the inadvertant reminder :)

well, the hat is good - however, i personally prefer them with bobbles on top ?

Still - after a weird route through some biarre web pages i ended up here - madness - im on the hunt for something, well, something weird - dont know what - but your hat is to nice to consider as weird - you look pretty cool though - but give the knitting a rest !
