Jennifer- Your assessment of Gmail seems pretty fair! I got a beta account a few days ago and have been asking people to spam me in order to test out Gmail's spam filtering capabilities. I've been keeping track of my progress at gmail.prattboy.net Thus far, spam filters seem pretty poor, but depending on how they are updated (and if a "neural net" is used, as you suggest), they could work quite well in the future. I've sent a message to the Gmail team to see if they could shed any light on the topic; no response yet. Let me know if you find anything out, and spam me at prattboy@gmail.com

Suddenly Hotmail "extra storage" isn't such a bargain...

Probably MS and yahoo will have to start offering more. Hotmail's interface is already a disaster, so if gmail is easy to use, i'll switch regardless of the storage limit.

Hopefully they'll get their code issues worked out, and not be so dependent on javascripting...that's what's really annoyed me about hotmail lately. Everything's a javascript, and the scripts only give the correct text in Internet Explorer. When I empty my trash in Mozilla, I get something like "Javascript. #234848245. OK/cancel"
