First comment spam
What a milestone–I just got my first comment spam. And like the spam I get in my inbox, it’s just as easy to delete. I just hope it doesn’t portend a future of more comment spamming.

It does.
But, it’s pretty easy to delete, and I’ve found it usually is on old posts, so it’s not that visible (until I finally install a “recent comments” section). I’m pretty steady at about 1 a week. But I also haven’t installed mt-blacklist yet.

I get it on my old posts. I delete the spam and close comments on the posts. So far, this manual approach hasn’t been too onerous, but I am thinking about installing mt-blacklist also (when I can find the time).

It’ll get worse. I installed blacklist after it got to more than once a day. Looking at my activity logs, I see that it’s stopping on average 3 attempts a day on differing posts.
I don’t know if Wordpress has something similiar to Blacklist, but I’d recommend getting it installed sooner rather than later if you have that option.
