Lack of motivation
I’ve been feeling somewhat dissatisfied with parts of my life in the past couple of weeks, and instead of making me motivated to get up and do something useful, it seems to have turned me into a sluggish do-nothing. I spent the whole weekend doing not much more than sitting in bed, reading novels. Bleh. I hate when I waste my weekends.
And now I’m feeling all sleepy and relaxed because of the allergy medicine I took earlier, so I’m even less interested in doing actual work.
Wake up, wake up!
Anyway, I have had a couple non-sluggish moments the past week or two. We had a nice time for my sister’s birthday–went out to eat with her boyfriend and Candy & Brandy at Bugaboo Creek and later had yummy chocolate mousse cake from Russo’s. And Friday I went to Brandy’s place and we watched a million episodes of Sex and the City in a row.
I hope the weather gets better soon, because I’d like to do some outdoor stuff. Well, Saturday I did go walking by the Charles River in Watertown, but that’s not enough. For one thing, there’s a lot of traffic noise, and people are so stupid and leave their trash lying around. Before that, I had gone to the Newton Free Library for the first time. It’s really nice! But they don’t appear to have seperate sections for Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Romance, etc. like the Cambridge Public Library. I’d rather not have to sift through all the boring mystery books and such to get to what I want. On the way into the library, I saw a raccoon grab something from the trash and go down to the little creek to wash it and eat it. They even had a sign saying that you should watch out for the raccoons. I think I love Newton. The houses–oh my gosh–they’re so gorgeous! All of them! And the huge yards and trees and everything. I’m sure they must all cost millions of dollars, but oh, I want to live in Newton! While I was at the library, I also saw a little sign saying there would be a viola recital (by a member of the BSO) on Sunday at 2pm. And I think I heard him practicing in a closed room nearby. Sounded like he was playing Rebecca Clarke or something, though the recital said he’d be playing Hindemith and Bax, I think. And maybe Brahms or Bruch, I don’t remember. But not Clarke. Oh well, maybe I was wrong, I only heard a snippet. Anyway, I was going to go, but then I was a lazy slug Sunday and didn’t get up until 1pm anyway, so I didn’t go. It was free too!
Ok, enough rambling for now. Maybe if I put some Vivaldi on, I’ll be able to get some work done.
