Somewhat updated design
Well, as you can see, I’ve updated my site design somewhat. I’ve basically kept the Kubrick design that comes with WordPress, but customized the header image (to a picture of some tulips I took in the backyard) and adjusted the background and link colors to match. I wanted the site to feel more “mine” and less generic, without spending a lot of time doing a total redesign (which probably wouldn’t look as nice as the Kubrick design anyway).
Oh, and I added Google ads as an experiment a few days ago, but nobody’s clicking yet.
That’s ok - this being a personal site, I wasn’t really expecting much of anything from it anyway. I just thought I’d get the account all set up so I would be able to easily put ads on a non-personal site I’m thinking of starting, once I actually start it.

Google Ads??? Sell out!!
No, I’m just kidding. Ads are perfectly OK, if positioned properly, and not overly obtrusive.
So, you get a couple cents everytime someone clicks on an ad? Just curious how that works.
I like the soft yellow background, and the red in the flower.

Yeah, I hate when ads are huge blinking flashing images, or if they get in the way of the content.
And yes, I would get a few cents when someone clicked an ad. It’s crazy, though - advertisers actually pay one or two dollars per click for some keywords! But that’s only for certain areas, like digital cameras. Any ads showing up on this site would be much lower paying, I’m sure. And Google takes its cut, too, of course.
Thanks for the compliment on the colors - I thought they were nice and warm and spring-like (or even summer-like).
