To that effect, I DO subscribe to some of the "biggies," like ESPN. But I also have a lot of podcasts from individuals, each of which bend to my interests. I like MacCast (http://www.maccast.com/), CubsCast (http://www.cubscast.com/), The World Technology, and of course - iTunes New Music Tuesdays. I've just begun listening to podcasts, so I haven't had much time to actually "dig in" and find "unknown" podcasts - that aren't advertised. I'm sure over time I will "pick and prune" my podcasts, according to the ones that I find enjoyable over a long period of time. For me, it's still too early to develop a solid opinion on any of them.
