Announcing “Perfect Fifths”
I now have a new site dedicated to stringed instruments: Perfect Fifths. Of course, I’ll still talk about classical music stuff here, especially when it’s more on a personal level. Perfect Fifths is an experiment in creating a more focused, topic-driven website. It will have rehearsal tips, reviews of accessories, and other “shop talk.” It also has some ads on it (like here), including the new Chitika eMiniMalls ads on a few of the posts. It will be interesting to see if they do any better on a more focused website. But it’s not so much about the ads and making money (since I don’t really make much of anything from them) as it is about experimentation and writing about a subject I love.
If you love violins and violas and cellos, too (and even if you don’t), I hope you’ll stop by!

Hi Jennifer,
Just stumbled across your blog. I’m a UK viola player. I’m new to blogs so I’m sorry if I’m adding an entry in the wrong place.
Just played the Mendelssohn octet. Want to play Verklaerte Nacht - how hard is it by comparison.
Also, how do I follow your responses through the RSS2.0 feed?
Pleaase email me - looking forward to it.
