Are you a Java web developer?

And are you in Boston? Because I’ve had at least three or four people asking me if I could come work for them, or if I knew any other Java developers who do UI work. They still haven’t found a replacement for me at my last job, and that’s after more than a year!

It seems like very few software engineers actually like doing user interface work. And very few web developers know Java.

So let me know if you’re one of those few, and are looking for a job!

    Well said.

I did some JSP work in 2004, for a very big company - but much of the real “hard-nosed” stuff was outsourced to India. Our group here (the “Client-side developers”) had to know more of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript - than actual Java - but we were still required to know JSP (thats what the job description said, anyway)…

Most of our group (myself included) hadn’t much experience with JSP - so they brought us on, and paid us to be trained in it. (Why didn’t they just hire people who ALREADY knew it? There’s the question…)

It’s definitely a “hot job,” and a big demand for it.

I think they’ll have a more difficult time finding people willing to work in Boston than they will finding qualified candidates. :)
